Baby Thomas Birthday Bash Session |Richmond Hill Child Photographer

Look who is finishing up his Grow With Me Plan! Super handsome Baby Thomas! Happy 1st Birthday to this sweet baby boy (and future football fan)! Look at that adorable smile! He was, as always, a natural in front of the camera! We enjoyed all of his cute smiles as he hammed it up for us. Undoubtedly he is showered with love and kisses all the time. What a cutie pie! By the way Thomas…GO DAWGS!!!

Fun football little man! Babies love the toys and props we use here in our studio; we have a wide variety to choose from. You can also bring a favorite toy or item such as a book or a blanket they love. These often make your images even more fun and meaningful. You may also want to bring your favorite outfits for your little ones to wear during their session, or borrow from our curated wardrobe closet.

Look at you go, Thomas! No doubt he is showing off his standing skills. The whole world awaits you, sweet boy!

We so loved this Gone Fishing-themed birthday cake smash! The little boat you’ll see on the right was used in every session from newborn all the way through to his first birthday. Childhood goes by way too quickly, most especially that first year filled with milestones. They change so rapidly that first year too. Oftentimes parents, like Thomas’s, choose to be a part of our Grow With Me Plan which allows you to create memories and milestones of your little one during their first year. If you’d like more information, please contact us!

This sweet boy loved his yummy fishing-themed cake! It was beautiful and also delicious! We have a very talented baker who makes our cakes. Her name is Leslie Ates and her cake business is called Ates’ Bakes & Cakes. She is also local here to Richmond Hill!

Unsure if your baby will enjoy the cake? Well, here’s a tip we tell parents. Bring along your child’s favorite snacks. We can stick them to the back of the cake just in case they’re not in the mood for a cake that day or they don’t like sweets yet. It works amazingly well!

It’s my party and I’ll cry if I want to! It’s ok sweet baby boy.
(yup, we photograph the tears, too)

Happy 1st Birthday Thomas!!! What a joy it is to capture these precious milestones and moments in the life of a child for their parents to cherish forever. We hope you and your family enjoy these images for many happy years to come.

7th Annual Love Your Pet Event | Richmond Hill Pet Photographer

Yay! We here at MMP are so excited to announce the 7th annual Love Your Pet event! And how do we like to celebrate the month of love?

With pets, of course!

We are excited to be supporting the SD Gunner Fund for the fourth year in a row.

(Please scroll below the image to sign up for our fundraising event!)

The SD Gunner Fund was created to assist Veterans and disabled children with the financial expense of owning much-needed service animals. Service Animals require a variety of necessary items in order to perform their service. Those items can include but are not limited to vests, custom harnesses, other assistance items, veterinary visits, and more. Service dogs are trained to support individuals with mobility, hearing, psychiatric, and brain/neurological disabilities. These dogs are professionally trained to meet the individual needs of their partner and completes tasks such as opening doors, picking up dropped objects, assisting with daily dressing, or pulling a manual wheelchair. The SD Gunner Fund can also assist Veterans and disabled children with a variety of “other” financial assistance if needed.

Here are the details about the 7th annual Love your Pet Event!

When? Saturday, February 5th from 10:00 – 3:00

Where? MMP’s RH studio, 10384 Ford Avenue in Richmond Hill

What is included? Session fee includes a 15-minute session for one pet ($10 per additional), an online gallery, and a treat for your favorite companion! Portraits are a separate purchase and collections begin at $25. Please note that all session fees and 10% of each collection purchased will be donated to the SD Gunner Fund.

Are multiple pets allowed? Yes! Your $25 session fee includes one pet. Each additional is $10. All session fees will be donated to SD Gunner Fund. If you would like more time, please purchase two time slots.

What do I need to bring? Yourself, your pet (of course), your pet’s favorite treat/snack/lovey. If your pet is a fashionista, feel free to bring an accessory or two. In addition, all dogs must be on a leash.

Fine print? For the safety of all involved, your pet must be up to date on all vaccinations, be able to follow basic voice commands (sit, stay), be fully house trained, and friendly around all other people and animals. The only exception allowed is for puppies who are still learning voice commands and working on house training.

How should I prepare for my pet’s session? Please consider having your pet groomed a day or two before the session – don’t forget to clip those toenails! Remember that a tired pet is a happy pet, so please walk, run, or play with your pet about 1 hour to 30 minutes before the session. While I do ask all owners to bring their pet’s favorite treat, they will be used as a last resort to capture your pet’s attention. With that in mind, please do not feed your pet within an hour of their scheduled shoot.

How do I sign up for the fun? Click here to reserve your booking!

“If having a soul means being able to feel love, and loyalty, and gratitude, then animals are better off than a lot of humans.” (James Herriot)

See you, and your pet, soon!

Taking Pictures Indoors | Richmond Hill, GA Photographer

Once winter hints we find ourselves spending more time indoors, but that doesn’t mean great opportunities for a picture won’t pop up. Taking pictures indoors definitely seems daunting, but here are a few tips to help you out.

  1. Work with windows. Natural light works wonders for photos. If you can find a window or open door and use that light as front, side, or back lighting, it will give your images a beautiful look and feel. Window light also brings natural warmth to your images.

2. Pay attention to your surroundings. While shooting pictures inside your home gives you loads of great backdrops and props to work with, you might need to move a few things around before your session. Make sure that your space isn’t cluttered as this can shift the focus in your image (think dirty dishes, laundry piles, items on counters).

3. Check your light sources. It’s very important to stick to only one light source. If you’re shooting pictures in a room with strong overhead lights but there are also several windows, opt for the natural light and switch off everything else. Multiple light sources will create uneven color temperature in images … trust me, it doesn’t look good!

4. Discover your space, be creative! If you’re shooting in an indoor setting, walk around and see if there are areas you can use that you’ve never thought of before.

5. What you wear still matters. You will often come across advice on what to wear for outdoor portraits, but what you wear for indoor portraits matters just as much (unless you’re photographing your kids just being kids). Wardrobe should always complement your surroundings and the mood you wish to create.

Taking portraits indoors oftentimes does require a bit more work, but the results are worth it! Have fun!

Harper | Richmond Hill Newborn Photographer

Welcome to the world beautiful Harper!!! This sweet little girl was born in March of 2021 and is mom and dad’s first child. Incredibly, Harper was born at only 27 weeks and 4 days, weighing just 1 pound and 14 ounces at birth. She spent 98 days in the NICU … a true miracle baby!!

Sugar and spice and everything nice. Harper is wearing one of our many beautiful infant headbands and bonnets from our curated newborn wardrobe. We also have a plethora of outfits for babies and toddlers too, many of which have that antique feel that’s so popular now.

She looks like a sleeping angel. Just perfection!

Babies look so sweet in all our props, don’t they? We have a wide variety to choose from, as well as blankets, wraps, headbands, and bonnets in many different colors to compliment your home and nursery decor. We can also change out the flooring to match your own style.

Most babies sleep right through their very first portrait session with us (we have a magic touch). This little girl was so much fun to photograph. We so enjoy doing this for parents of newborns! Babies grow up so fast and that new baby stage goes by in a blink. Capturing these precious children when they are brand new is wonderful.

Mommy and me…so beautiful! Our full newborn sessions include professional hair and makeup artistry with one of our hair and makeup artists. We are fortunate to have these incredible ladies on our team! New moms deserve to be pampered and looking as gorgeous as can be too. Lauren looks amazing!

What a beautiful little family! Oftentimes parents, like Harper’s, choose to be a part of our Grow With Me plan which allows you to create memories and milestones of your little one during their first year. If you’d like more information, please contact us!

Welcome to the world adorable twins Wilder and Woods! They were born in May of 2021. Wilder weighed in at 7 pounds 3 ounces and Woods weighed 6 pounds. Well done, boys! Mom and Dad are elated to welcome their sons into their family, hearts, and lives.

Wilder and Woods are wearing two of our many beautiful infant wraps from our curated newborn wardrobe. We have bonnets for both boys and girls. There is an abundance of beautiful headbands for baby girls to wear as well. We have a wide variety of props to choose from, as well as blankets, wraps, stuffies, and toys in many different colors to compliment your home and nursery decor. We can also change out the flooring to match your own style.

The boys are photographed in an outdoorsy motif. Their nursery is woodland-themed. They look so cute in our tree stump buckets!

These sweet little ones slept right through their session. Most babies do. When they’re brand new they sleep soundly as we slide them from one pose and prop to the next.
