{Makes Me A Little Melancholy} | Richmond Hill Photographer

It truly is melancholy when newborns come back to see me, especially if I haven’t seen them for over a year. On one hand I am excited to see how much they’ve grown, how much hair they have now, if they have kept any of their sweet baby features. On the other hand it makes me a tiny bit sad to think about how fast time flies, and I often reminisce about my own precious kiddos.

Lovely Miss C. was no exception. I would have recognized her from across the room in a heartbeat, she hadn’t changed much at all. Soft (almost) bald head, sweet pinky cheeks, gorgeous wide-eyes.

As she was then …

And a few favorites from her one year session …

Happy Birthday sweet girl.

‘Lil Miss Spitfire | Richmond Hill, GA Photographer

When fellow professional photographer, Heather Brouillette, of hay.LO Photography contacted me about a session for her 5 year old daughter, the first emotions I felt were being completely humbled, honored and excited. And then, as the session date grew closer, the nervousness set in. As a photographer I always want to give my clients the very best, but the bar is definitely set mighty high when a photographer (and a great one at that) becomes your client.

But truly, I had nothing to fear. Not only was Heather totally relaxed (and actually spent most of the time on a chair outside the studio, much to her daughter’s insistence), but gorgeous, spunky Miss H. was just awesome to work with … an absolute natural in front of the camera, a smile that lit up the room and a laugh that still warms my heart.

This will be another photo heavy blog post … just too many images that I can’t bear not to post for everyone to see.

Heather, thank you again so much. I had a wonderful time with the two of you and it was such a blessing to capture this time in Miss. H’s life. I am lucky to call you a friend.

For the Love of Monkeys | Richmond Hill, GA Photographer

…sock monkeys, that is …

This blog post will have more than the usual number of pictures just because I love this family and have truly enjoyed photographing them over the past year. Yup, Mr. C. is another one of my sweet newborns who recently celebrated his first birthday. Hard to believe, but it’s true. Mr. C has come to see me 4 times over the past 12 months … and for you other photogs out there, you know how much these types of clients become not only friends, but almost family in a way.

Such a gorgeous fam … mom always does a great job of coordinating.

Chairs are always a hit, especially the fancy leather ones. This kid has great taste.

Hello handsome.

Not showing so much love for the sock monkey here, but at least there are zero tears. No tears are good.

Ah! Love me some baby grins! And baby teeth!

Clearly someone is waaaay more exciting than me, but I am not complaining. Remember the no crying rule?

Balloons are some kind of awesomeness. Totally mom’s idea, and I loved it. So festive!

Serious cake eaters crack me up! I always want to say, “It’s a party!!! Woohoo!!!”

Mr. C, if you are trying to share with me, yes … yes, I would love a taste!

Mom & Dad, thank you so much for trusting me with your sweet little man and your family. It has truly been a blessing to have known you!

I pray our paths will meet again!

Sugar Sweet Two-Year Old | Richmond Hill, GA Family & Child Photographer

This sweet girl and her parents came to see me to celebrate Miss A.’s 2nd birthday. Two-year olds, as most of you know, always walk to the beat of their own drummer. Thankfully Miss A.’s beat was right in step with mine and we managed to capture a bunch of sweet memories for this awesome family.

Exhibit One:

Notice Miss A.’s baby toes … seriously, I swoon.

Kiddos always love this pose, but especially the 2-year variety … Really, is there a better place to be?

Hey, if you don’t have the real thing, wooden cupcakes are a great substitute! Plus you can mix-and-match ’em!

Gosh, I just love this big ‘ole natural smile! Isn’t she seriously the cutest?

Remember those adorable toes I mentioned? Yup. I just had to capture them up close.

Mom & Dad, you two were such a great team and I loved working with the three of you. Thanks so much for finding your way to me, even if that path was a bit curvy! Best of luck!!!
